Screening of the documentary “An American Epidemic”. Producer Michael DeLeon will be on site.
Parts of this documentary were filmed in Broward and Palm Beach County.
A collaborative effort of grass roots advocacy groups and county agencies uniting to break the STIGMA. Not my kid? Not in my backyard? Think again. We are in a CDC declared national prescription drug epidemic – it started right here in Broward County by Broward County physicians.

As part of the partnership between
United Way of Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse and the Strikers:
Saturday, November 1, 2014
we will have the opportunity to enjoy the second Annual United Way of Broward Night with the Strikers.
This is a nice promotion! During that night, Cynthia Tapia de Rodriguez from Broward Schools, will be performing the first kick of the game. Cynthia’s speech will focus on alcohol and other drug use prevention, highlighting initiatives such as Project Bran and Above The Influence. Youth from these initiatives will provide prevention information to fans attending the game. 500 megaphones with a prevention message, will be provided to the first 500 youth attending the game.
Go Strikers!
